GoLabel II | Get to know your software (Function Menu)
Let’s recap:
- unpacked and plugged in your printer.
- Installed the GoLabel II Drivers and software
Please note:
this guide is best viewed on a desktop computer, it is not optimal to view on a cellular device due to image sizes.
Now, let’s get to know the menu and layout of the GoLabel II software
The Function Menu
The main screen includes;
- the upper menu or Function menu, that includes access to all the software functions.
- On the left, right side and top, there are Toolbars that contain graphic buttons for working with your software;
- The Design / Editing Area in the centre, where we will design our print work.
The Function Menu
Users can find all the functions of the program in the [Function Menu]. The menu consist of the following options:
When selecting the FILE option you will be able to open a new job, edit an existing job, or save a new/exiting job. There is also options to edit your page and printer setup.
Selecting the Edit option allows you to cut, copy and paste items in your artwork. You can also select / unselect all items (if you are printing multiple items) and move it around on the label editing area.
When selecting the object option on the main menu, you have access to items that can be added to your label editing area (it is easier to make use of the left side toolbar that is in essence a shortcut to this same menu.)
You may choose to add lines to the artwork, shapes and barcodes, text or images.
Note:
Because this is a desktop printer, and we recommend you “babysit” the printing process. Therefore we are not going to install this printer as a network or database option.
The next item on the function menu is the “Option” item.
This option mainly allows you to display a guiding “grid” that assist in aligning artwork on the label editing area, to ensure every item is straight.
This grid is a guidance only and will not print.
The remaining three options, layout, language and help is self explanatory. We typically work in Normal layout mode. There are various options to customise these toolbars with docking options that we are not going to discuss in this tutorial.
